Watched the events in Egypt the last week. Amazing to say the least.
Today and this evening it is now 8:00 p.m. Charity has been at the Bakery since 9 a.m. (When you co own a business it will keep you busy). Since we have no kids at the house she would rather be working then reading a book all day. That is what she said.
I have studied most of the day. Finished my outline notes on Romans 5:6-11 (6) and Philippians 3:15 for Sundays lesson. I still have to work on Proverbs in the Adult Bible study hour.
I have worked on several of my websites plus Facebook.
I gleam from nearly 100 websites and learn a lot from those articles.
Randy Webb got me thinking about preaching. There is a lot of thought that goes into the matter of teaching the Scriptures.
Winston Hall also had some good impute into the subject of preaching.
I have been in the study of JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH. Just because someone says they believe that, it does not necessary mean they mean what we mean by that doctrinal though. I am learning that.
The plain old Protestant doctrine is, that the place of faith in justification is only that of a hand or instrument, receiving the righteousness of Christ, for which only we are justified. So that though great scholars do often confound themselves and others, in their disputations about faith’s justifying a sinner; every poor plain believer hath the marrow of this mystery feeding his heart; and he can readily tell you, that to be justified by faith, is to be justified by Christ’s righteousness, apprehended by faith.
Romans has been all about Justification. And I am presenting my 64 message in the book. Romans 5:6-8 this Sunday, and I am still trying to get an handle on it.
“This doctrine [of justification] is a spiritual mystery, and does not lie level with a natural understanding (1 Cor. 2:10, 14). Working for life a man naturally understands, but believing for life, he understands not. To mend the old man, he knows; but to put on the new man by faith is a riddle to him. The study of holiness, and endeavoring to square his life according to God’s law, he knows a little of, though he can never do it; but to draw sanctification from Christ by faith, and to walk holily in and through the force of the Spirit of Christ in the heart by faith is mere empty language to him” Robert Traill said. (pp. 35-36).
Some truths have to be believed has to be revealed to you by the Holy Spirit. Romans 5 The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts. The Holy Spirit is given to us for the express purpose of helping us know God.
Well, as I like to say, I have listen through Numbers as of tonight. Making my way to the last book in the Old Testament.
